gui working until i actually select the preset i want to play then i get the zynthian error screen. i am using raspberry pi 2 a hifiberry DAC light. i am using the gorgonilla image and have updated several times. any ideas?

Have you configured your audio device as an “HifiBerry DAC+ light”?
If not, you should do it. The easiest way is using the webconf tool by accesing your Zynthian Box form your browser. See the wiki:

Thank you for your quick response. yes i have configured my audio device as hifiberry dac+ light, my display as waveshare 4" gpio and wiring as prototype 3H, although i have only connected encoders for select and back would that make a difference.

i think mheidt is correct, but i have tried all wiring prototypes. i dont think i have enough spare gpio to connect encoders. this works but i only have half the connections
still no joy i can get to the sound control section if i use hdmi for display.

hi there sorry for the long pause. i have decided to go for the mcp23017 option as i think my problems were to do with spare GPIO pins.i followed these build instructions: https://github.com/beckdac/zynthian-build/tree/master/case/mcp23017_encoders, and attached to wiring pi 25 and 27( which are physical pins 36-37) but still no joy. when i select mcp23017 encoders in webui i get the same zynthian error screen.

Are you using a Gorgona image?
You have to update (probably twice) before you get updated to the last version.
The file “mcp23x0817.h” is included in all recent WiringPi releases, so it should be there. If not, try to install/update the wiring pi development packages, although it should be installed by default in Gorgona images.

I reinstalled recently and haven’t found the file either
OK! You are right, an upgrade is needed in order to get the last wiringpi version. I’ve patched the system scripts.
