Address MIDI instument by its name

Hello,

I have two different MIDI instruments, both on channel 1. I can’t change that.
I want one to conect to an engine, and the other to another engine.

I thought I could connect a MIDI instrument to an engine not only via a MIDI channel but also via its name, but I can’t find out how to do that anywhere. Am I imagining this, or am I looking in the wrong place?

EDIT: I suddenly realize I might be confusing Zynthian with Reaper, but I am not sure…

Bold select a chain. Select MIDI Input. Select the devices you want feeding that chain.
