Arranger bug with VNC

Hi there,

I’m new to zynthian. I have a pi4b loaded with the newest zynthian. I’m currently controlling it via web ui. It seems like there’s a bug with the arranger. I cannot actually step the numbers at the bottom left using the -1 +1 buttons. It goes up by values of 10s. So in my scene I can only sequence either 1, 11, 21, etc.

Hi @trojanGoat! A warm zynthian welcome to the community.

This may be a change that was done a while back, where fine control is achieved with a push and turn action. I have not used this feature and there is some concern about how effective it is and whether there could be increased wear or damage to the encoders but see if that solves your issue initially. Also, the title of this topic is misleading. By “webui” do you mean via VNC?

You are correct I meant VNC.

So is there a way for me to adjust those values by single digits? It seems like an essential functionality for the arranger.

I’m new to Zynthian and I had the same question.

So using VNC, you’re missing the “encoders” which are the knobs/dials on the device.
You’re supposed to dial in this pattern number rather than using the arrow buttons.

You can emulate the encoders by holding down the control key on your keyboard along with “<” or “>” to increment or decrement the numbers.

Hope that helps!

How are you changing these values? If you use the default keybinding, ctrl+comma and ctrl+period change this value by single digits.

[Edit] Oops! @ben4real had already answered. (My page hadn’t refreshed to see his answer.) “<” and “>” are used as down and up references which is why those keys were chosen but on a UK QWERTY keyboard, those are actually the shifted charachters on the comma and period (full stop) keys.

For me I had to use ctrl + < (or >) to adjust in single digits. Would it be useful to allow the touch settings to adjust in single digits like this?

Thanks.
