With soundfonts, they are often loaded into memory

I think at least with sfizz the samples are streamed from disk unless stated in the sfz file (apart from a tiny bit of “note head”).

Sfizz polyphony limit?

Somebody tested it with hint_ram_based=1 in the sfz script? Would be interesting, because it sounds like the sd speed is the bottleneck on either version of the PI then, right?
