The background (with a bell like attack, if I am right), the “trumpets” and this little vocal at 1:20.
I don’t believe, that they really sung that
That brass is at least two synths layered. I think it is something from a Yamaha TX816 and a Roland JX-8P or so.
I would me delighted to achieve the pad sound exactly sounding like the original.
This was the one song the rest of my band choose to do in the 80’s which I really disliked at the time. It was also the most challenging for me, the lead guitarist - I had to learn to use both hands on the fretboard which was the (daft) fashion back then.
