Hex Forge and Hex Chain Plugins

Hi @Riban,

Clear! and thanks for the elaborate respons!! :folded_hands::folded_hands::folded_hands::folded_hands::folded_hands::folded_hands::folded_hands::folded_hands::folded_hands::folded_hands:

I agree with closing this subject here and I will create a feature request.

Cheers,

Maarten

PS… have to laugh: “If someone (or something) wants to implement it then we might consider a PR.”.. indeed… perhaps “something” you never know … AI or such…

I’ll see what I can do. I want to accommodate everyone and get this thing on as many devices as possible. I have standalone, au, and vst3 plugins available for Mac and Windows too, so a ui change won’t take long. I’ll keep you posted.

Hi Ryan,

Fantastic!

Thanks and cheers,

Maarten

Here’s a GitHub action that creates a deliverable specifically for Zynthian. The ui is written to be x11 native compatible for all plugins and Hex Forge. I only had a short time to mess with it in VNC, but it appears to be working. Let me know if it needs to go to Patch Storage or if you only need the GitHub action. the artifact download url is in the upload build artifact step.

I see that job builds against bookworm. Zynthian is about to release Vangelis which is built on Trixie.

In theory, this shouldn’t be zynthian specific, but any arm64 hardware running Linux.

Well done @rpowell5064. I can see the new GUIs. I have noticed that bypass on the Chain Input Trim plugin cannot be toggled from the GUI and does not indicate the state of the zynthian control. This looks different to other bypass - in fact, the Chain Amp has both, “Bypass” (which works) and “bypass”. This may be a quirk of zynthian which creates a bypass if one does not exist and may be failing to detect your bypass - but Chain Input Trim UI Bypass is broken.

I’ll have to make another pass at the ui and see if anything else didn’t convert over properly. I’ll look into combining the x11 and mod gui deliverables. I hastily got the new ui testable with a quick build action. Thanks for testing it out. I could only see the plugins through VNC without the audio portion. I’ll also look into compiling with Trixie instead of Bookworm.

Hi Ryan,

All plugins show their GUI via VNC and are editable!!! :folded_hands:

I really like the Scratch Pad!! Thanks!

And… incredibly thank you for supporting the zynthian platform!!

Cheers,

Maarten

@rpowell5064 did you use an existing feature of the toolkit? We might benefit such a feature with other mod-only plugins.

Super nice!! The last version is already included in Vangelis. Just update and enjoy!
Thanks a lot, @rpowell5064 !

I had Claude do the conversion. It read the TTLs for each plugin and generated the port tables, and pieced it all together with keys describing each plugin in an individual cpp file. Most of my ui was html and css so it had to be converted over to X11, so some of the css effects are missing on a first pass. I was only able to test by eyeballing each plugin with VNC with commands.
