How can I use Oram zynthian to play on my external synth

Hi all,
I try to use zynthian with ORAM as the central point in my setup, so I connected my external synth via USB in order to play it with my keyboard.
I spent a lot of time figuring out how I can get the midi from the keyboard to the synth. Without success. Both devices are known in Zynthian and playing the internal instruments is not a problem.

Is the function not yet implemented?

What do you want to do exactly? Zynthian can route MIDI in many ways, so you have to specify the details.

If you simply want to pass-thru your keyboards MIDI input to your external device, then you have to:

  • create a MIDI chain
  • select ALL MIDI channels
  • don’t need to add processors to this chain, you can choose “none” from the list
  • from chain options, select the MIDI input devices (your keyboards)
  • from chain options, select the MIDI out devices (your external synths)

This should be enough.

and the not yet completed Oram user guide may help:

Thank you, I am in some learning curve here.

Hi jofemodo,
This is exactly what I want to achieve and I did as you described last week.
At first, this worked but a day later it did not anymore.

I have thrown away the old midi chain and set it up again. Now the connection between keyboard and synth is back again.
