There is a calibration thread that details the mechanism used for a 3.5" touchscreen this is also in the wiki. Sorry I’m on a phone so finding the links is a little suboptimal from here.

Could this be the end of all touch screen calibration issues?

Hi again, after browsing some discussion forums, I think I have found a solution for the non-persistent calibration values. As I understand it, there are two interface layers for touch screen devices, evdev (older) and libinput (newer, but also uses evdev). The calibration procedure (calib, xinput_calibrator) relies on evdev and thus there can be cases where the calibration is in conflict with libinput.
