Hi @spurkopf .
Can you explain me the passages of your method to create bus channels like if you are talking to a dumb person, like i am? i’m still confused by this layers etc…
thanx

If you want to mix several chains in as a group then:

  • Create an audio chain
  • Bold SELECT the new audio chain to access its Chain Options menu and select “Rename Chain” then call it something useful, e.g. “Group”
  • For each chain that you want to route through the group chain:
    • Bold SELECT to access its Chain Options menu
    • Select “Audio Out” to access its output routing menu
    • Uncheck “Main Mixbus”
    • Check “Group” (or whatever you called your group chain)

Now, your chains are routed through the group chain so can be controlled (fader, balance, mute, etc.) by its channel strip and will be affected by its effect chain.

Hi @sagga!
I’ll try to explain it in more detail. Maybe I should also make a video tutorial , but give it a try:
First you need an additional plugin. For example the AMS Stereo Mixer 4 Channels. The inputs are mono here, only the output is stereo. If stereo inputs are required, the LSP Mixer can be used. 4 channels means that the effect level can be set individually for 4 chains.

To try it out, create 2 instrument chains, e.g. piano/drums.

Now add another audio chain with the effect. First select the AMS_Mixer plugin here, then add the actual effect, preferably a reverb with a large room to make the effect clearly audible. So select: Add Pre-fader Audio-FX and then serial. Important for the reverb effect - set the dry level to 0.

In the Instrument Chain of the piano - select the Chain Options, then Audio Out and now comes the trick: Main Mixbus is already selected and can remain so, in addition there are now 4 times >side AMS_Stereo_Mixer_4_channel available, here select the first option additionally. The instrument signal is now also routed to the AMS_Mixer plug-in.

Likewise in the instrument chain of the drums - select the second option >side AMS_Stereo_Mixer_4_channel in the chain options.

Back in the Return FX Chain, you can now control the effect amount for the piano in the AMS_Mixer plugin under Volume1 and for the drums under Volume 2. In the Zynthian mixer, the overall volume of the effect return can be adjusted, or quickly switched off with Mute.
