Hi all! New to the device, and I’ve run into a weird issue that I can’t find a post here about. Probably user error, but I can’t manage to get round it.
My setup is a no hardware build w/the following:
Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Rev 1.4
Audio: IQAudio DAC+
Display: Generic HDMI/DSI Display
Wiring: TOUCH_ONLY
I2C: Not detected
Profile: v5
Using mouse/keyboard for the moment
Debian GNU/Linux 12 (bookworm)
Build Date: 2025-05-30
zyncoder: oram (e903d39)
zynthian-ui: oram (f3897cd)
zynthian-sys: oram (9c365eb)
zynthian-data: oram (1e27df9)
zynthian-webconf: oram (024ff8d)
I’ve got a few test chains instantiated, and am trying to remove just one of them. My understanding is that going to the “opt admin” menu from the mix page, then going to “remove chains” should allow me to then select which chain to remove. Instead, clicking this gives the same prompt as “remove all chains”, asking me to confirm I want to remove all chains. Confirming by clicking “yes” does indeed remove all of the chains I had set up.
Additionally, clicking the next option in “opt admin” menu, “remove all chains”, does do what it is meant to, and gives me the same confirmation prompt upon clicking.
What am I doing wrong? Or, is this a bug? Thanks for any help!
You didn’t explain how you were navigating to the menu (without hardware buttons). You need to open the chain menu which offers, “Remove Chain” option.
Apologies for the vagueness on that point. I intended for the “using mouse and keyboard at the moment” to indicate how I was navigating and interacting with the device. Should have been more specific
I am using the onscreen keypad option from the “ui-options”, set to “V5 keypad left”, and using the mouse pointer to navigate to the onscreen buttons I want to click. To get to the “main” page in Zynthian I click on “opt-admin” from the mix page. Once on the main page, I mouse to “remove chains” and left click. This brings up a confirmation screen that asks “do you really want to remove ALL chains?”, with “no” and yes" buttons to click at the bottom left and right of the screen.
I had assumed since it was possible to add a single chain from that opt-admin page that the remove chains command was intended to remove one or more chains, not necessarily all chains and only all chains. Before, I was unclear on how to navigate to the “chain options” page for each present chain, but after reading the Oram user guide again more carefully, and poking around the onscreen soft buttons, I’ve got it, now.
