Soldering Audio Connectors Question

I’m in the process of mounting my Zynthian but the L/r audio connectors don’t look like the ones in any of the online tutorials - being a complete beginner in soldering/electronics I don’t want to guess just in case.

I can’t see any point on my audio connectors to solder each connector to the other. Also, can I solder the wire from the hifiberry to any of the two connection points, or does it have to be a specific one?

This is the last bit of soldering I have to do and I really don’t want to get it wrong!

Hi @ulysses13,
I do not know if I got it right. But the solder points near the threads/nut should be ground. They both can be soldered together then with one wire to gnd on the soundcard. The both far from nut are the “hot” signals (L+R). One for right channel(connector 1), the other for left (connector 2).

Hope this is what you need to go on.

Best Regards
Michael

That’s what’s confusing me - I don’t see any soldering points near the thread/nut. It’s all plastic.

Hi @ulysses13,

maybe this picture helps:

Could you make a picture from the inside of the connector? There must be two lugs.

Best Regards
Michael
