The new Kit v4.1 is out: Balanced Input & Output!

No - the other pins carry power. See the datasheet:

Output connector J5

This connector can be used to connect to external components, e.g. an amplifier. The output is connected in parallel to the RCA jacks. Pin 1 is on the top left.

+5V 1 2 R
GND 3 4 GND
+5V 5 6 L

5v to the amp makes for a livelier performance.

I want to hide somewhere.

Maybe I can sample this somehow, so that this episode has at least one good outcome.

Well, I promised. It is the above mentioned noise as an sfz instrument. Samples are me persistently connecting the 5V power line to my output jack ring and wonder why it makes noise.

You can fade into differnent noisynesses with modwheel
cutoff, resonance, attack, release are also implemented.

Note that I DC-filtered the samples and took care the instrument may never go over 0 dBfs, but turn your speakers down anyway.

Now to make a piece using this and the Real Banjo soundfont.

One has to feel a little sorry for the Pi that has to sit and listen to it’s PSU all day…

It really is a very noisy environment…
