I am trying to get a Zynthian box working that only has a Official RPF 7" touchscreen for the UI.
I am documenting what I am doing in the Wiki: http://wiki.zynthian.org/index.php/Simple_RPF_Touchscreen_Zynthian (work-in-progress)
So far it boots up and displays the Layer List screen. If I touch the screen it goes to the Engine screen. Sliding my finger around the lower right blue square changes the number displayed. I can also move the selection on then list of engines on the left. Cannot get it to do anything else.
Touching the top bar does not seem to be going Back. I’m stuck.
I guess I really need some basic instructions on how to use the touchscreen only UI. Upon getting some help, I’ll writeup more doc about what I’ve discovered in the Wiki.

Hi @gmeader!
Could you stop the zynthian service and run the UI from the command line to see the logs?
systemctl stop zynthian
/zynthian/zynthian-sys/sbin/zynthian.sh
Regards!
Woaooooo! Nice work!! Thanks a lot for helping with the documentation. It’s a bored task, but it’s sooooo important for the project!!
Regards!

I got it working.
Touchscreen only, audio from built-in Rpi 1/8" jack. No other hardware required.
Needed to do update_zynthian several times. One problem was that the update script was failing to get the latest code from Github. I had to delete zynthian-sys and Git clone to fix it. Same for zynthian-uI.
At some point I will finish the Wiki instructions on how to get it working, starting from scratch. Lots of details on how to get the built-in audio working and how to troubleshoot. Scripts need to be more robust - stopping on errors and showing what to do about it.
For now, I am playing with it and adding lots of info and images to the User’s Guide on the wiki. http://wiki.zynthian.org/index.php/Zynthian_Users_Guide
