V5 Zynthian: sometimes the screen refuses to start up

I recently got a second hand V5 Zynthian (with RPi4), partly because I wanted to test out the new form factor alongside my V4, and partly because it was at a good price. It’s an absolute beautiful piece of kit, and the RGB illuminated buttons really look great. I still find my V4 faster to work with though, perhaps because I’m more used to it, but also I think because it takes a while to move my hand between the knobs and buttons on the V5, whereas the V4 is more compact.

Occasionally though, when I power on the V5 Zynthian, the screen refuses to light up and it doesn’t seem to be responsive to touch either. Zynthian is still alive, because if I press and hold the Opt / Admin button (which normally brings up Power Off - Are you sure), and then press Sel / Yes, it powers down and next time I power it up it works again. This seems to happen maybe once out of 25 startups (haven’t really kept count).

It feels more like a software than hardware issue; apart from this the V5 is rock solid. Is this a known problem with some early V5 hardware version?

it’s not a know issue. i would try a fresh SD card with fresh burned image. if this doesn’t fix the issue, you should consider re-checking the display working.

Ok thanks. The SD card was recently newly flashed with the latest Oram image, so might have a look inside the case and check the wiring.
