Hello friends, I like YC20, but it eats all the resources of my zynthian (RPI4, I have a lot of Xrun. Do you have the same problem?
Yes, YC20 uses Faust which is a CPU intensive simulation. I feel that YC20 plugin is of little use and should be removed. It eats CPU for very little reward.
You could try setBfree with saw or square waveform. The sound is not far from a combo-organ emulation.

Could Calf Organ substitute?
I can’t speak on its CPU load, but String Machine could be an option too. It’s not actually a very convincing string synth emulation to my ear, but it’s not at all far off from the lower end model Yamaha Electone I had for years and the other transistor organs I’ve gotten to play (which makes sense, since the main difference between a transistor combo organ and string synth is the chorus and maybe the envelopes - they’re all similar divide-down circuits at heart).
I bet it could do some really serviceable Farfisa or Vox sounds if you ran it through an amp modeler.
There is a prize of much less rook soup for some considerable time for anyone that can actively remove an engine from the lists by demonstrating an entirely encompassing replacement!
Thanks everyone, I will replace this organ with another one (setBeFree or Calf). I share the same opinion as Riban, I think it would be good to remove it from the list of organ emulators in Zynthian.
