An open source hardware design for type A (or standard nowadays) and B midiTRS in to serial adapter

Just stumbled upon this, the genius of it is amaizing.

Basically its a midiTRS in to serial circuit with optocouplers that supports both standards without switches or anything

Where is the same for MIDI out ?

I’m not sure that’s doable at all like this, “automagically”, however with a double pole switch you can easily achieve that i think

MIDI out is easy if you have two UARTs available. Wire so TX on both UARTs goes to the midi output pins. Then you can enable / disable the UARTs via software.

so with the pi 4 and 5 this is probably fully feasible
