Artiphon Chorda, Orba, Instrument 1, and Bankruptcy

Artiphon the Nashville based company which produced Chorda, Orba, and Instrument 1, started, and may have completed, a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. Chapter 7 meaning they’re not coming back, as opposed to Chapter 11 which means they are going to try to continue the business.

I have seen, and made some posts myself, about their three products in other topics on this forum.

The Artiphon topic is mainly about Instrument 1, I guess because it was their first product, although there’s some spillover between all three topics.

I’m still quite happy with my Chorda, both as a standalone synth, and a midi controller for Zynthian.

Any word if they’re open sourcing the necessaries to keep them working?

Sadly, either no, or maybe a bit more hopefully, no word yet. I attended, via Zoom, a creditors meeting about a month ago. Artiphon’s founder talked a bit about preserving what they had done and I suggested open source. There wasn’t much reaction to either of us, which made some sense as it was mostly a financial meeting.
