May I suggest an electrical loop test as well as an acoutic loop test? It will be advantageous to be able to measure the latency introduced by physical hardware and its associated software, e.g. soundcards and their ALSA drivers. Such a test may influence users on their choise of hardware beyond the JACK theoretical loop latency.
