Building Zynthian

Gestern habe ich den

Bausatz 5,1 fetiggestellt und nach Einschalten

schien auch alles zu funktionieren. Heute

wollte ich den Zyntian wieder einschalten

da ging dann aber gar nichts mehr.

Aktuell kommt nur noch die Lady und zynthian

oram. Was ist da los?

I’ll translate:

Edgar is saying that after finishing the 5.1 kit build after turning it on everything seemed to work.

But today after switching it on “nothing works, only the lady appears”
which I would interpret as seeing the Oram splash screen with nothing more happening.

Edgar, can you ssh into the Zynthian when it hangs? Is the webconf interface reachable?

Hi Edgar!

Could you say what SD-card brand and model are you using? This is really important.
SD-card issues are the more frequent cause of boot issues. This is largely discussed in other threads and also warned and explained along the wiki tutorials.

Also, if you could access the webconf tool and send the logs, it would help to diagnose your problem.

Hi Jofemodo,
I think I have found the reason of troubles, it is again the ffc-Connektor on the mainboard (CONTROL -1). I fixed new all the other connectors and I could see some Instruments on the screen. But the connector Control-1 lost the securing and so I cant fix the Cable in the secure position. What can I do?

Do you mean you broke the CONTROL-1 connector’s tongue while building your zynthian?
OK! Sometimes it could happen …

  • You could buy some FPC connectors from Mouser or Digikey and try to replace the tongue. Replacing the tongue is possible, but i recommend you buy a bunch of connectors to have enough tongues to try :wink:

  • Alternately, you could try securing the broken connector with hot glue. It’s not nice but it normally works if done with care.

Anyway, i recommend you use a decent magnifying glass for manipulating these connectors. Good lighting, good tools, a large, stable and well addressed work table. Stay relaxed and have enough time. Hurry doesn’t help with this kind of operations. Doing my “yoga” before, works for me!
