Would it be possible to place the pedal indicators (and sometimes a blue line whose purpose I don’t know) slightly higher (for example, above the channel number)?
In Oram they were clearly visible:

We moved these flags down when we moved balance/pan up. The blue flag shows when MIDI is received on that chain (MIDI channel). I guess you say that on some builds at some viewing angles the bottom edge of the screen is slightly obscured. Add a ticket to the issue tracker and we will consider options.

Well, it’s not the build, it’s the screen. If the black mask on the touch overlay is too close to the borders of the screen, this happens (parallax).
Even on my 5.1 kit, the flags are difficult to see from a flat angle.
That’s what happens when you lie down on the job!!! 
You are right that the screen is mounted below the surface and parallax results in partial obscuring. We will have a think…
