Boot asks for login on new V5.1 [Solved]

Please, could you be more specific?
I mean, what exact image filename doesn’t match the MD5sum file?

Thanks!

Content of md5 file is:
00f888dd350d1da9bdc7b8f8f09814ca 2024-10-02-zynthianos-oram-2409-stable.img.xz

but it should be:
00f888dd350d1da9bdc7b8f8f09814ca zynthianos-last-stable.img.xz

if not, then

md5sum -c zynthianos-last-stable.img.xz.md5

ends with an error, not finding 2024-10-02-zynthianos-oram-2409-stable.img.xz
Regards

The real filename is:

2024-10-02-zynthianos-oram-2409-stable.img.xz

this one:

zynthianos-last-stable.img.xz

is just a soft link in the folder that always point to the last stable. We used to avoid having to edit all download links from website, shop, etc. each time we release a new version.

I will make a copy of the MD5sum file with the right filename, OK?

Regards.

Hi!
A bit of an update on this issue, as I was the OP.
For me it got really fixed after getting a proper SD (I got one of those recommended for the SteamDeck).
The first boot went from 10+ minutes to less than a minute.
Also I had some issues for example when updating from webconf or changing fonts, which would hang the device. No such issues with a good SD.
So my take here is don’t do just what the wiki says (it just says “try a different SD”) but use a modern SD with high specs (maybe this could be a mention in the wiki?).
Cheers!

We advise to use good-quality SD-cards. We don’t want to mention brands/models in the wiki, but you will find some specific recommendations if you search the forum.

Regards

Totally! Thing is, I thought the SD I was using was good enough (after all, the write speed for the .img was mostly the same than the new one), but the performance in-device was night and day. So my message is mostly a warning for any future users: if the first boot takes a long time, as in more than 5 minutes, that SD is not up to par, even if it works after it and subsequent boots are normal (10-20 seconds).
