I reopen a solved ticket: to have subfolders in “capture” folder #939
In ORAM, I created a subfolder "drums "in capture folder and it is not visible.
Furthermore in capture folder files are not alphabetically sorted

Hmmm, isn’t that what you’d expect from Oram, until there is a major release? I would agree it’s confusing, but that’s how I read @riban 's fix:

This is implemented in oram branch and will be included in next major release.
And the original introduction of the ‘tagged’ release concept:
So we have to wait for the next major (non-point AKA non-tagged) release, e.g. Vangelis. And if you don’t want to wait, switch to Vangelis. Or request that this fix be included in the next stable?
I requested it in Oram if it is possible…
Do you mean oram branch (staging) or latest oram stable tag? ![]()
Anyway, @riban, did you implemented this? I wasn’t aware …

I don’t think that having subfolders inside “capture” has much sense.
There is a dedicated folder for user samples and other user files. Please, read this:
Regards,
I’ve made multiple recording in rehearsals and it can all get a little bit unwieldy if you can’t impose some form of structure quickly.
OTherwise you end up with a long list of timestamped files that are difficult to navigate when someone says “how did the third track take four sound?”
You have to manually rename files so, would it make sense to move them to the files folder at the same time? That way we have a simple flat for capture and a structured folder for more permanent files.
the file naming mechanism whilst providing the double press to clear is useful, a seed mechanism might be beneficial that allows you provide a name header that could be easily altered to track song titles or other category information.
That way you could quickly add a track title and generate easily defined flat file data, which would benefit from good ordering tools.
Such a default would allow fast and accurate naming of takes in various situations and simple use of the record toggle rather than textual editing between new takes of a specific linked events and a quick textual edit to change for a new grouped bunch of recordings.
Hi, I installed that latest update and running zyncoder: oram-2506.1 (e903d3). Is subfolders supported for midi and snapshots supported yet ? I have drum patches that I would like to organize. Also would like to organize music projects.
The new update is great though.. even on a PI4 with medium overclocking works great.
Hi @Jerryn !
Welcome back!
Last stable version is 2510.1. You can update from the webconf.
Also, you should consider changing to Oram Staging version. It’s really stable and you will enjoy a lot of fixes and improvements.
