Chord Progressions & Drum patterns available as MID file collections

I announced this “new feature” in another thread, but it didn’t get any attention, probably because it was not the right place. Today, while reviewing “tickets” i saw there were two old “feature request” for it:

So here we go again!

I added (Vangelis) 3 libraries of MID files that you can load from the pattern editor (import SMF). These libraries can be useful resources when composing, experimenting or simply learning.


Chord Progressions

Organized in 3 modes:

  • Major
  • Minor
  • Modal

and 5 styles:

  • Plain
  • HopHop
  • Pop1
  • Pop2
  • Soul

Drum Patterns

Organized by styles:

Nice. I can’t wait to check this out. I’ve been thinking for some time that would be great to have, especially the beats. I’m terrible at beat-making…especially when trying to loop it. Having these, even if just a starting point, will help a lot when trying to loop.

I haven’t tried Vangelis yet, but seeing all these exciting new features I feel like I should give it a try now. So many new things to explore.
