I’m encountering problems with my encoders. They seem to give irregular results. Although cheap ones bought overhere in The Netherlands, they work perfect using them in other projects of mine. So I was wandering if pulling the switch and a/b lines of the decoders high (1 - 10K@+5volt) can do any harm. Are these lines already software-wise pulled up? in the zynthian software? And which extra current will flow?
And did someone already tried something like that?
I run with just the encoder on my hifiberry zynthian, and I get a bit of chatter on the one of them.
Do you have the capacitors connected as in the schematic?
I seem to remember ( but haven’t checked ) that there is a software pull up.
Are you using the encoder pcb ?
and could you show a picture ( I know that can be a little self shaming sometimes) but it really does help to get an idea of what is going on…
Hi Wyleu, I’ve etched and assembled the single decoder pcb’s. As advised I only placed one capacitor at the switch line. So I don’t think my pcb’s are the problem.
