Exquis midi keyboard + Zynthian == Plug and Play?

Yes, there is where the Surge XT UI should show (in VNC-Engines). Maybe double check that:

  • Surge XT is enabled in the Zynthian webconfig / Software / Engines
  • an instrument chain was added, with Surge XT an all channels enabled in MIDI Channel

Ok when I checked VNC engines i hadn’t added an instrument chain w SurgeXT with all channels yet. Will try again.

So I’m getting close but I’m having the same issue as @laban77. The MPE enabled state is not loading despite saving a preset and snapshot, then loading custom snapshot.

Here’s what I did:

  1. Add instrument chain SurgeXT, all channels, picked a MPE voice.
  2. Logged in to webconf, VNC engines, enabled MPE.
  3. File save, " Surge_XT.presets.lv2"…there was no " Surge_XT.presets.lv2" file to overwrite here but it did save.
  4. Then I saved a new snapshot.
  5. Remove all chains and sequences.
  6. Loaded saved snapshot.
  7. The correct SurgeXT MPE voice is loaded but MPE is disabled.

How do you scan for new presets once you save your custom preset? Is this the step I’m missing before saving snapshot? I’m on a minimal headless setup (Rpi 4 w HiBerry DAC+).

I connected my Pi to a monitor so I can see the Zynthian UI.

In the webconf app under engines I tried ‘search for presets’ but got this err: “Configuring engines failed: ‘Node’ object has no attribute ‘split’”
