Getting Audio from USB synth & midi devices

Hi There. I’ll give a quick rundown on my setup. I have a focusrite 4i4 as the primary sound card. My fpe50 and sh4d are both connected to a usb hub which is connected to the zynthian.

Midi data / mapping is working fine. I’m having trouble bringing in audio inputs from the fpe50 and sh4d. It seems like I can only get audio from 1 or the other… strange.

When I create an audio channel I see the 6 channels from the focusrite 4i4 and only 2 more from sh4d. If I go to the hotplug usb audio, both devices show up and I have to disable 1 or the other so their 2 channels can appear in the audio input selection.

Any tips? Or does zynthian have an 8 channel audio input limit?

No. I have 16 input channels from my Tascam US-1608.

Can you see how the USB audio devices identify? You can use aplay -l to list audio devices.

Alsa does find all of them. I’m wondering if my 8 channels are … 4 from usb audio interface, 2 from fpe50 and 2 from sh4d. Maybe they got mislabeled?. I’ll do some more testing and poking around.

Ok.. problem solved!

I had to turn hot plug on and off, maybe the audio channels needed to get reinitialized? I see all channels now (as expected)

Thank you!
