I do not understand your issue. Having VNC to show the graphical interface of a synth or audio plugin is just a very nice extra that you do not need to use… If I were you, if you didn’t already, switch off VNC and no CPU processor time is lost on the VNC process

There is no implementation of a Ableton-ish workflow. There is just the possibility to use a VNC server to view the GUI of an plugin. For me there is no mangeling samples on the fly. Or editting sound of a synth on the fly.
The VNC gui is just very nice to, BEFORE ‘on the fly playing’ (during a concert or such, be able to create complex settings on synth or audio plugin that I can use during stage performance.
Examples of such synths are the DSP56300 synths or the wonderful Vaporizer 2 synth or several plugins like Cloudreverb etc (Unfortunately the GUI of Aether is not displayed). These pluging are, to my opinion, almost impossible to edit without a GUI.
