When you ask Zynthian to turn off, the Raspberry remains powered. So I will try the UUGear Witty Pi 4: Realtime Clock and Power Management for Raspberry Pi 4. I use the Hifiberry DAC2 ADC Pro. If some one has advice?
The manual says, Output Current Up to 3A for Raspberry Pi and its peripherals. This may not be enough, depending on the load. One of the most common issues we have had in the past is poor power supply which can lead to xruns and/or instability. This device takes in the power then passes it through an electronic switch. This may deteriorate the supply (and by spec - limits it). I would be worried about whether the zynthian will have enough current to work reliably.
The V3 would would work well with a good, 3A PSU. Latter models have required more current, especially if adding peripherals like USB controllers, etc.
Thank you Riban, I will try with a Meanwell LRS-35-5
That doesn’t help. You can put a fisson reactor in front of it, capabale of generating a billion megawatts… but if the switch limits to 3A then it won’t get through.
Ok Riban, do you have an idea to fix this problem ? The other way, is to use a mechanical switch with a fuse, like this : YIXISI 2 Pièces 10A 250V Interrupteur à Bascule de Puissance
Describe the problem. Do you want the ability to manually and/or automatically interrupt the power to the zynthian? (V5 kit has a physical switch that interrupts the power.) Do you want to be able to turn on the zynthian in a consistent way, e.g. press the same switch in the same way to turn it on? (V5 kit - after power down from UI, you have to throw the switch off and then on to power up.) Do you want a physical switch to power down gracefully? (V5 power switch interrupts power and does not do a gracefull power down, hence last snapshot, etc. are not saved.)
If you start to specify the requirement, e.g. as bullet points then you will (should) see that there is always more detail in requirement that initially suspected. (The Devil is in the Details.)
I don’t have the Zynthian motherboard, I have a Raspberry Pi 4, a Hifiberry DAC2 ADC Pro, a Geekworm X825 to use a WD Blue SA510 M.2 250GB, and a Meanwell LRS-35-5. When I poweroff Zynthian, I would like to poweroff the Power an my Raspberry.
