Hi @core.east !
Do you find this option in Oram? I think it’s not present in Oram.
[EDIT] OK, I see this option was shown in the arranger. I will try to rescue this functionality for Vangelis.
Regards,

Super, thankyou
Hi @core.east !
I just pushed the new “Import from SMF” functionality for the pattern editor in Vangelis.
It pre-analyzes the SMF file and shows the list of busy channels, including the “program” used for each one. It uses the GM instrument list for naming the programs.
For the chosen channel, it aligns the pattern start with the first busy bar in the chosen channel and fills the pattern until reaching the end (of the pattern). No pattern auto-resize. You may want to set the size of the pattern before importing.
Of course, this is a first step and there is room for further improvement. Anyway, please, don’t forget you are importing a mid file into a step sequencer (and advanced one, but stepseq), so keep in mind there are limits to what can be done.
Enjoy!

Thanks @jofemodo, and @core.east for the request. This is something I had also in mind to ask, in view of an idea for a direct MuseScore (on another Raspi or external PC) to Zynthian Midi feed.
Very nice to have this function available again! ![]()
BTW, i have included a collection of tiny mid files:
Enjoy!!
I just improved the drum patterns & chord progression library structure to easily explore and find what you want.
The file selector also remembers last selection, so workflow is more agile now.
Enjoy!
