Is it possible to map 4 midi cc encoders to the 4 on screen encoders?

Using a midi controller such as the faderfox ec4, is it possible to map 4 encoders on that controller to the 4 encoders shown on the zynthian screen? So not to map them to specific parameters on specific channels, instead just to whatever is showing on screen at the time. I found an old thread or two on this topic from years ago but it didn’t seem to have an answer, or it wasn’t possible at the time.

The problem is the lack of the push switches on most encoders.

These are an integral part of the zynthian interface.

The FF EC4 has push switches on the encoders, configurable as separate control commands.

Then the manual is probably your next stop…

That’s where I started, I can’t find a way to do this in the control options I’ve found in the wiki, which is why I came here. Is it only possible if you create a controller driver, such as that for the Akai MPK Mini?

I have done it in the past using MIDI CC’s from a Nord modular 2 a good proof of concept but not really useful day to day.

A ctrldrv is probably the recommended way and of considerable more value to the community.

Programming a ctrldev driver for your device is the way to go. I would share a basic example if you like.

Yes please. I’ve not done this before but would be interested in exploring.
