Issue with Plugin Loading - Error Message: "Failed to Initialize"

Hello,

I am facing trouble with my Zynthian setup and need any help / suggestions. Whenever I try to load the “MIDI Synth” plugin, I receive an error message stating “Failed to Initialize.” This issue occurs consistently every time I try to use this plugin. The error message appears immediately after selecting the plugin from the list and does not proceed to the plugin interface. :upside_down_face:

I have restarted the Zynthian device multiple times, but the problem exist .

I have updated to the latest Zynthian software version available.

I’ve checked all connections and ensured that the MIDI Synth plugin is properly installed. Details are -

Zynthian Version: 2024-07-10

Plugin in Use: MIDI Synth

Error Message: “Failed to Initialize”

I’ve reviewed the Zynthian Users Guide - ZynthianWiki splunk documentation and searched through the forums but haven’t found a solution. If anyone has experienced this issue or has any troubleshooting tips, I would greatly appreciate your input.

Latest stable or latest Oram? If stable, I’d suggest trying Oram on a separate SD card.

I can’t find any engine called “MIDI Synth”. I assume you are using the old stable and trying to add a MIDI Layer. Your description is insufficient for us to diagnose what you are trying to do.

Adding a MIDI synth to stable has been working for many years so I don’t know why you are having issues.

We are about to release a new version called, “Oram”. You can install this from here. (@jofemodo - you may wish to remove old versions of the image.)
