Layman's question about SF2 files (Solved)

I have a friend who asks me if I can insert some sound samples that he has with the LV2 extension into the Zynthian. Can you kindly tell me how to do it and if it can be done? Thank you

I think you can organize a sfz file with e.g. polyphone and use sfizz for playing.

I’m not up to doing something like this… can you give me a track or a link? Thank you

Just download Polyphone and setup your samples/layers (I cannot give a full handon for this - it’s not very difficult but sometimes Polyphone thinks a little bit different than the user :slight_smile: ).

After storing as sf2/sf3/sfz you should be use this for LinuxSampler/sfizz.

If I ever have free time again, I want to use it to make a soundset with effect sounds.

Many thanks :wink:

Is it really “LV2” extension?

I apologize to everyone for my ignorance… My friend wrote me this:
“I have my soundfonts .sf2 samples”… Thanks!

You can upload soundfonts to Fluidsynth using webconf:

  • Navigate to LIBRARY->Presets & Snapshots
  • Select “Fluidsynth SF2 Player” from the top left dropdown menu
  • Click the “Upload (sf2,sf3,zip,tgz,tar.gz,tar.bz2)” button
  • Select the file to upload (drag and drop or navigate filesystem)
  • Click “UPLOAD!” button

You should then find the soundfont installed in Fluidsynth.

[Edit] I have edited the title of this thread to show SF2 instead of LV2.
