Multitimbral / layers

I am trying to layer up a couple of synths.
I read this
https://wiki.zynthian.org/index.php/Zynthian_UI_User_Guide_-_V5
I searched the forum. Spent a couple of hours.
I can load up 2 instruments and switch between them.
Cant figure out how to trigger both at once.
I tried selecting “multi-timbral” in this menu
http://zynthian.local/ui-midi-options
that didn’t change the behaviour.
Please point me in the direction of something that explains the process thanks

There are several ways to do it. 1: Leave it in omni-mode and in an ‘X’ channel where the ‘x’ synthesizer is, go to ‘clone midi to’ in the channel options and choose the MIDI channel with the other instrument. When you play something on channel X, it will be replicated on the MIDI channel that has the other instrument. I hope it’s clear; English is not my native language, but I tried. :ok_hand:

As @nucklear says, if you want to layer sounds, use MIDI cloning. If you want to play multitimbral, i.e. each synth is triggered by its own MIDI channel, e.g. from multiple MIDI keyboards then enable multitimbral mode.

Thanks I worked it out . Set the unit set to Stage ( Omni ON ) from this URL with the Zynthian connected via an ethernet cable .

On the touch screen of the unit itself the page to clone the channel is called “chain options” .
That page is reachable via the “mixer” page which is accessed by the mix/level button . Light up the channel you want to clone in the “mixer” page. . A long press on knob 4 takes you to the “Chain Options page” .
Click on “Clone MIDI to…” and from there you can clone the channel’s incoming midi messages to as many other midi channels as you wish with different synthesizers on them .
