"Music is the best"

A really good soundtrack. I loved how Tony Doogan (a Scottish producer with a few bands and a few other soundtracks) tightly fitted his soundtrack with the actors dialogue (esp in the first AA meeting scene about 15 minutes in). It is like sidechaining but more like a conversation between the actors and the soundtrack giving both adequate space. I could not find that particular piece of music on the soundtrack but you can listen to the soundtrack at various streamers or YT below.

Better when listened to in context with the movie though … via more nefarious methods atm.

This always cheers me up…

ouch!

Thought this was pretty cool. Playing his album live. Well the cutdown 4 hour version of his 6 hour album . He does long live sets on the regular. I got Vangellis/Jean-Michel Jarre vibes.

A bit left field but I like Trent Reznor’s approach to making music I think mostly because I feel it is sort of accessible to mere mortals like me and this tutorial breaks that down how simple can be complex. Three song broken down with lots of tips and demonstrated at the end of each section.

Remarkable stuff, great classic, always up-to-date :blue_heart:

Peter is always Peter…a great one. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Two great Italians, one of whom is little known.

I was going to say another version of Terry Riley’s In C, but given definition of the piece … is to do your own thing are they actually all the same???

This performance is being driven by a Norns Lua script. (lines) (github).

Why I like this … I like In C but sort of amazing everyone can not only perform but share their works in ways that can be reused by other performers. Everything mainstream media is not :>

Googling around after my last post to get the source details let me to an article discussing how Terry Rilley is still [developing his practice at 90](https://www.talkhouse.com/at-90-terry-rileys-practice-is-still-evolving/). The article mentioned his latest release was included on an EP that was released in conjunction with a concert given at the inaugural Nobel Laureate Assembly for the Prevention of Nuclear War. There was a live including a performance of Hard Rain and accompanied spoken word (but I have not found a link for that yet).

The full EP can be found in various streaming services including YouTube linked in the article above.

You probably should listen to first track to get some context but I liked the second track, Hard Rain (Drone) (the video link above) more as the drone has a real musical quality reflecting the source work. I think it is amazing that someone saw the need for a creative component to a conference of Nobel laureates and nuclear scientists. Terry Rilley’s latest song is the third track.

50 artists, 129 Nobel Laurates, 45 nuclear scientist think nuclear weapons are not a very smart idea versus the singular authoritarians who think they are … purely for their own political needs.

I have to draw the line and it appears I am in good company to call out despots who consider increasing nuclear risk is a tweetable moment for political point scoring with their fringe base!
