I’m all updated, running a raspi 4 with a touchscreen.
I have zynswitch1 and zynswitch3 mapped to two keys on a numpad (59 and 104) and they haven’t been working since this recent round of updates. Other key bindings seem to work fine.

Check your wiring layout config. You seem to have configured some pin in the encoder section and it shouldn’t be there. All 4 pins should be set to -1.

Hi,

for me the update to the latest RC didn’t go that smoothly.
At first it all looks good after doing the usual procedure:

Download image 2024-09-14…img
Decompress it with xz
Burn it with dd to SDcard
Put it in the RPi
Boot

Until here it’s all right. Zynthian boots. I see the UI on my V4-Kit and go to admin to connect to WiFi, because I want to update.
The update seems to break something. Because after the update I end up on a white screen and webconf isn’t reachable anymore.

How can I find out what’s happening?
Any logs that get saved to SDcard during update?

No error on a custom knobless, generic HDMI zynthian.

Just wanted to add that on first boot right after installing the image zynthain shuts down the pi. I had this happen with a pi400 and a cm4. I have to unplug power and plug back in so in can do its thing again.
I also can no longer access webconfig by plugging an Ethernet cable from my pc to the raspberry.

Hi @Hans_JB , when you say this is happening with a cm4, what is the cm4 plugged into - a CM4IOBRD or something else?
What kind of soundcard or audio interface are you using and how is it attached, ie USB, I2S, etc?

I had ORAM installed on the CM4 before with NVME. It’s installed in a waveshare CM4 DISP-BASE-5A https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/CM4-DISP-BASE-5A.
the installation went well. I didn’t even have to do the whole setting up nvme in cmd text file steps. It came up without issues.
I noticed that with both the cm4 and pi400, on first boot, after the first page of text on the screen, both pi shut down and I had to unplug and plug back so it can do the boot over again. Once I did that everything came up no issues. I also wanted to point out that I can no longer access webconfig via eithernet cable from my pc to the Pis which I was ble to do with the last ORAM I installed.

By the way just a heads up to some that may have bought the https://www.waveshare.com/wiki/CM4-DISP-BASE-5A or planning to buy it. The display no longer work with the latest (bookworm) even after installing drivers. Works with previous OS but something changed. I contacted waveshare and they know of the issue and had updated the hardware (so they say) to support it. Since I bought before this latest update, I would have to buy the newest version.
You can still use the HDMI output which still works but defeat the purpose of the all in one.

I’m using a variant of hifiberry. As I mentioned above, I don’t have an issue now and did not have any issues before. I have both raspberry pi setup before as I do now. I just noticed something which I feel should bring up.
I did not have to unplug power and plug it back before on first boot, actually not even through the first boot just about two to three seconds and shutdown. The fact that it happened with both Pi’s felt like something I should bring up.

Can you get an ssh connection to the machine(s)…?

It sounds like the machine is crashing on zynth & zynthwebconf start up. You should still be able to get an ssh connection which will allow you to view various logs and also stop and start the individual components to see where they are tripping up.

Hi Zynthian developers…

It would be incredibly nice if the user (me and I think also others with no physical knobs attached to the zynthian) could set a SSID and password before booting the Zynthian image. Something like the Raspberry Pi Imager offers.
Each time I download a new Zynthian image I have some kind of issue getting access to the software. Mostly I can access by attaching a keyboard and using raspi-config to configure WIFI. (and that is difficult when the screen is alternating between 2 screens… )

It should setup the access point if the UI can’t boot.
Have you tried?
