You have to be complete and specific when talking about Akai midi keyboard controllers - the names are close, but the units are quite different, in this case I think there is confusion between Akai APC Key25 mk2 and Akai MPK mini mk3,
As far as I know and can tell by looking at Akai site there is no Akai APC Key25 mk3
The Akai APC Key25 mk2 is, I believe, unique, or at least unusual, among the Akai midi controller-keyboards in being intended and documented as to the communications protocol-commands in both directions.

I really like the statement - AKAI Professional entered the electronic music industry in 1984 with one purpose - to give artists the tools they need to express and explore new musical possibilities.
Despite that, they don’t seem to me to want to give me any tools at all, they almost always require payment! Maybe they had to change their priorities when Inmusic Brands took over.
