noVNC refuses connection

Hi all,

I try to noVNC into my zynth, but connection is refused due to authentication error.
It has been a while, but I can’t remember using a special password.
The same password I use with ssh should be fine, should it not?

@BertB Try the default RPi password. If that works (it worked for me), change it.

@Jtunes. Thanks, I had the default password. That worked with PuTTY but not with noVNC.
Now I have changed the password. Again, it works with PuTTY but not with noVNC.

Do you use the root’s password?

it is the same

Hi guys, it has been a while, but I want to pick up the pace again.
Problem I have, I still cannot access with NoVNC. I still get authentication faillures.

To be sure, I do not misunderstand, I use the same passwaord that gives root access via SSH.

There is a big in some versions of Zynthian which means the password remains “raspberry”. This is fixed on testing but not yet in stable.

Unfortunately neither the standard nor the new password gave me access, zo I had to fully setup Zynthian all over again. Now, NoVNC works again.

Thanks for helping me.

@BertB Hi !
I see you had a problem with VNC, in my case I can access noVNC, but since the last update when I add LV2 plugins nothing is showing in the VNC window anymore.

Am I the only one in this situation?

EDIT : SOLVED ! Thanks to @jofemodo

It’s solved in stable from 2104. Simply update and change password from webconf, it should change all passwords on the system:

  • root
  • webconf
  • VNC
  • WIFI hotspot
