Pianoteq 9.0 released

Hi Piattica

I also have had a struggle installing PT 9. And my webconf is not starting by itself but otherwise it seems to be working now. Whatever passed by as i was trying to get it to work is a little bit confused and unclear since it happened over several days, and my memory is so so…

  1. I’m running with RPI5 own build, Sound is Tascam US16*8 and i engage with the Zynthian via a variety of controllers…
  2. I updated Vangelis and tried to install PT9, which seemed to work but after reboot PT was all gone and no webconf, and error loading all snapshots with PT (which i think is on all of them)
  3. I could reach via Terminal (Putty) and restart Webconf with “systemctl restart zynthian-webconf” and then i could install PT8, and my chains were working.
  4. I tried again for PT9 - same result, same “solution” - and i stuck with PT8 for a while, still without Webconf starting automatically.
  5. After some or more Vangelis updates my webconf was suddenly auto-starting
  6. Next move is a bit unclear to me, but for some reason i had another go which resulted in my controllers not working, my encoders did work but my switches not. Same in the VNC interface with V5 buttons on screen.
  7. Then i did a RE-FLASH and installed PT9 yet again. This time it worked but after one or maybe two reboot PT by itself went back to version 8 which was the point where i started to believe in some divine intervention
  8. I then persisted and installed PT9 again, and this time it worked - and still does. But i still have to manually restart Webconf!
  9. I have noticed that there is yet an update to Vangelis, and i probably should update. Maybe even the webconf comes back again by itself.

I’m not at all sure that this will be any help for you @piattica or any one else, but i think that it could be part of the whole picture and maybe thus at some usefulness.

Regards,
