@niels @tunagenes thanks, both of you… bookmarked
Although ZS3 does give rapid selection of presets and customisation of parameters, it sounds like the initial request is simple to use presets. This allows you to select any of the Pianoteq sounds, e.g. Steinway D Jazz. You don’t need to use VNC for this. How to select presets depends on the version of zynthian you are using.
…ah, I’m on the v5, and…. OK. OK… OK… the menus are a lillll confusing but I think I’ve found the presets area now. Thanks @riban .
the @ niels and tunagenes suggestions sound good too, since it sounds like a better idea to have all the pianoteq options I want (Steinway, etc) to show up at the ah.. top/main menu.
Also, I’m using one instrument pack that I like (electric pianos) and the preset lets you look thru the different options/sounds under that category, but I have other pianoteq instrument packs I’ve gotten (Hohner, Steinway) so it sounds like using the ZS3 gets me to the different instrument packs, too.
Presets will access all the instrument packs. I have Pianoteq Stage V8 with the Steinway and the Electric Piano instrument pack, plus the additional bundled historical packs and demos of the rest. All are accessible from the Preset menu. Each group within each instrument pack is presented in the “Bank” view:
Then each individual patch/preset is shown below these in the preset view:
So you can select all the saved instruments, including customised, personal saved presets.
You can also mark presets as favourites so you can group together your most used / preferred presets.
ah gotcha. have to sorta double or triple tap the presets button to get into the different instruments packs.
Still trying to figure out the favorites thing because that sounds useful too.
thanks @riban , thanks folks
guys , folks, not sure why I have such a hard time with different facets of the Zynth. OK I could spin this into a new thread but since I’m not sure who else has troubles, gonna just post here: I cannot get the audio sound to trigger out for SETBFREE (organs). The Zynthian default electric piano makes a sound, and with your help i got Pianoteq working, but… for SetBFree organ I could not get the sound out. So there must be something I am not getting about the Chain/Synth setup (…..?)
Did you, by any chance, have the top preset ‘silence’ set (not kidding). This has all the drawbars pushed in, and therefore makes no sound.
that makes sense but I’m not seeing that…I fiddled with all of the drawbar options and … nope.
When you press a key do you visually see Zynthian trying to produce a sound on the meter bars or do they stay at minimum?
no sound on the sound meter for SetBFree.. the other synths (MDA epiano.. and pianoteq) show green audio ”volume indicators“ going up + down when i play the keys.
