Recording a Midi track while playing a backing midi works really well now and doesn’t skip a beat on a RPI4 with 4GB RAM and medium overclocking. There’s quite a few instruments here along with a Black Pearl Drumkit, Linux Sampler Electric Guitar FBS with the GXHornet to get the sound I wanted. Multiple Bass, one Slap Bass and Synth Bass 2. Also used the Linux Sampler DX2 piano here. I created the track 2 lead and modified the the GM midi Backing Track for the Zynthian. The keyboard used was the Arturia MiniLab MKII with sustain pedal. You will hear some mistakes.. but bending with the Arturia works.
