Hi All,
I’m a newby in Zynthian. I built a system with Raspberry PI 4B, RaspiAudio Dac, SSD MNVe 1 TB with Raspberry adapter 52pi, Mean Well power supply 5v/10A, Monitor 5” DSI, 4 EC11 encoders. I’ve installed the latest sw release (https://os.zynthian.org/2026-01-27-zynthianos-oram-2601-stable.img.xz.md5). I modified the config in V4. I’ve the system working properly through the touch monitor command but many problems with the Encoder hardware configuration. Furthermore I’m not able to show in the software some external fonts loaded in /zynthian/zynthian-my-data/soundfonts/sf2. Can somebody help me? Many thanks in advance for your time and support
I didn’t add sf2 myself and am not sure if this is really the problem, but I read on the wiki that sf2-libraries act like soundfont banks itself and are not recommended to put in subfolders. Might that be the case?
As for the other problems other users might chime in, but they’ll probably ask you to state
- Your current system configuration as a screenshot from webconf or from the ssh
- specification about the changes you made in the config and the problems you face (concerning encoder config)
It’s true that SF2 files acts as banks, but it shouldn’t be a problem to use subfolders for them. The current selector can browse across subfolders.
Please @RobDal01, could you bit a little bit more verbose? Could you send how you oragnized the SF2 files in the zynthian, what file names they have, etc.?
Thanks
Good to know. I though that because of

Many thanks Johannes and Jofemodo for your prompt reply! It’s a real pleasure!
I attached my Zynthian Soundfonts organization screenshot. If you need more deep info don’t exitate to ask for me.
Many thanks again and regards

Hi @RobDal01
Did you make sure to peruse them from a Zynthian chain (in this specific case, a synth plugin on a Midi channel) loaded with the FluidSynth SoundFont rompler? (Instrument Category: Sampler).
