Raspberry pi 5 and HifiBerry Dac+

Hi there, I have started my Zynthian Frankenstein build and struggled a bit getting my HifiBerry Dac+
To work on the Rpi5 with the default configuration.

On the Hifiberry website it shows the line:-
dtoverlay=hifiberry-dacplus

should be changed to:-
dtoverlay=hifiberry-dacplus-std
for the DAC+ Standard, Amp2 and Amp4

and:-
dtoverlay=hifiberry-dacplus-pro
for the DAC+ Pro and DAC2 Pro

This is for Rpi5 only.

It works now!!!

Sorry if this is posted elsewhere or it is in the wrong place.

Welcome aboard the good ship zynthian. Please wipe your flippers.

The zynthian handles all this level of configuration for you. So you don’t need to make such alterations.

All you need do is start the zynthian and then use the webconf interface to allow you to configure the hardware. The HifiBerry Devices are all located there.

Its explained here in the wiki…

Hi there,

Thank you so much for this post! I had almost given up on it… In my case, I’m using a PiFi DAC+ v2.0 (which I believe is a Chinese clone of the HiFiBerry using the PCM5122 DAC). It works flawlessly on a RPI4 by simply selecting “HiFiBerry DAC+” in the WebConf, but I couldn’t get it to work with the RPI5 no matter what I tried… until I read your post. Changing that line to dtoverlay=hifiberry-dacplus-std did the trick and it’s now working perfectly!

THANKS A LOT!!!
