Reaper as plugin server. Not scanning Zynthian plugins

Hi there,

I am looking to turning my u Console from Clockworkpi into a bit of a software synth hub. I have tried multiple method of installing Reaper and plugin locations and still Reaper will not scan plugins from here https://github.com/zynthian/zynthian-plugins.

So far I have tried the following:

  • Scanning and emptying the cache and scanning.
  • Installing Reaper as root or locally, including putting vst folders in both locations.
  • Adding new vst locations in options.
  • Moving .vst and .so files one at a time to the vst folders to make sure it wasn’t the depth of the folder structure.

Not sure what else I can try. I have seen this working in tutorials so I am confident there is a solution. Sometimes, when I select the un scanned plugin under the rescan dropdown menu they are no longer listed under unscanned, but also don’t appear as options in reaper.

The plugins in this folder are already a few years old and in 32 bit. Since you are using Reaper, you most likely have a 64 bit Linux.

Thanks @spurkopf, that makes perfect sense. I’m new to RPi. I will look for arch64 plugins.

Hi @pierrerenerd . Welcome to the Zynthian forum.

Zynthian doesn’t really produce plugins. It consumes them so you are much better off getting plugins from their upstream source.

Thanks @riban,

I’m already finding a few that I would like to test out. Eventually I would like to try Carla on my setup.
