Reaper to Zynthian via rtpmidi

Hi friends,

Here again with an weird issue. I’m setting up reaper to use zynthian sounds via rtpmidi. In Zynthian I built one snapshot with several midi chains with differents midi channel. Midi input device is set up as multitimbral and active mode is unchecked. I hope in this way that it would sound the chain matching the midi channel received but this not happens. I can see in midi logs that channel received is correct, however always sound the active chanin no matter the channel received.

I’m sure I’m missing something. Can somone point me where to look at or what I’m doing wrong.

Thanks.

Bold press on RTP MIDI in MIDI Input menu from Chain Options and enable Multitimbral Mode.

Thanks @riban, I thought it was enough doing that in admin menu. I know now that I I also have to do it in every channel.

Tnaks a lot.

No, you just need to do it once. The mode of each MIDI input is global. Changing in the admin menu or from any chain options menu is the same thing.

Enabling from the admin menu enables the service. Enabling from the chain options menu enables the input to that chain.

Hi @riban, my setup is now working as I wanted, however, for claritication:

1.- In admin => midi input devices => rtpmidi is not accepting bold press, just short press to start/stop…..or long press to shutdown. Perhaps I misunderstood you and I expected to be able to setup rtp-midi as miltitimbral here.

2. If I go to chain options => MIDI in => rtp-midi, then I can bold press and select multimbral. Selecting multitimbral in one chain applies to the rest chains in the snapshot.

Thanks for being so patient….and very helpful.
