I think that it would be wise to acquire anyway the newer SBC, while the stock lasts and the prices keep on being relatively affordable, as long as the will to release such an upgrade kit still stands.

Of course, it would be nice if the package encompassed a (sort of) HAT solution, for connecting an NVMe mass storage unit. Huge leap in Zynthianic performance overall, I guess!

I don’t think the price is likely to go crazy like it did during covid necessarily, but also, the Pi people favored people selling hardware on the platform during the shortage, so I expect that whenever the kits are ready, he will have a stock of Pi5s to offer along with em.
