Is there a way to limit the max volume out somehow? My Zynthian 5.1 is connected to studio speakers without a volume control in between, and with the master volume for snapshots at 100% it’s way way too loud. I always have to make sure to lower the master volume to about 20% before touching the keyboard.
I found an old thread suggesting to add this as a configuration in webconf, but I think it was never added(?)
I had the same problem. It was the reason to add a hardware volume control to live Zynthians.
Expected behaviour: Disable the “Save audio levels in snapshots” and load the snapshot, levels stay the same as before loading.
Actual behaviour: They are set to 100% on loading if no levels are saved in the snapshot, or if the snapshot has been saved on a different Zynthian with a different sound card configuration.
It would be nice to have another menu entry: “Load levels from snapshots”, which gives a more (ear-) safe functionality and allow portability of snapshots.
I have seen this setting but it doesn’t protect me from high volume entirely, if I for instance load someone elses snapshot, or the ones included by default.
I guess it takes a hardware solution to be really safe, as suggested by fussl.
