Hi Zynthian users,
As a newby I need a little push in my back to get things working correctly.
I was really pleased to see that after copying the software to an SD card. Zynthian immediately worked without any extra setup. Big thumbs up to the programmers !!!
But now I have it running I have a bit of a hardtime to get my (extra) hardware running.
My setup at the moment is very basic.
Raspberry Pi 4 with a 4.3. waveshare touch display. (and a optional a raspiaudio v3 DAC board)
I need some help with the following:
The touch of the Waveshare is not working, can only control with a mouse at this moment.
(The touch option is actived in the web IU)
Is there something I need to configure??
Edit: I found the solution for the Audioboard so that is solved !! - Audio is only working true the raspberry headphone. I can’t find the setting for the raspiaudio
V3 board. In Ubuntu it runs out of the box but in Zynthian I don’t find the correct device.
the info for manual installation is saying: ‘dtoverlay=hifiberry-dac’ but I don’t know how to set *
this in Zynthian.
Is there a straight formawrd schematic where to connect rotary’s and extra buttons to the PI.
The info on creating my own setup is a bit fuzzy.
Try the various waveshare + usb screen options. There should be one that works but…
Beware of a bug with some waveshare screens / drivers (like my 5" DSI) whereby, touching the screen before it has loaded it’s driver (a few seconds after boot) will break touch and the only way to fix it is complete power off.
I reported this to waveshare last year and they are still working on a solution. They say the fix is a hardware change (different chip) which I find rather daft because the problem is that the screen sends I2C messages and expects response. I would have thought there would be an I2C message to clear / reset… but apparently not! This is unlikely to affect you because I don’t think it impacts the USB screens which can be reset by hot-plugging.
You may want to try replugging the USB after boot to see if that fixes your problem. (It may be similar to mine.)
Thanks for you explanation.
After replugging (after boot) the touch is working.
But is there a thick to get this working on boot.
Now after every reboot I need to 'pull the plug".
