SF2 favorite not loading from different font

Hello,

I have come across a number of very nice SF2 GM soundfonts. These fonts contain many (hundreds) presets, so it would be very welcome if you could add a few to your favorites.(in FluidSynth).

This works fine as long as the preset refers to the current soundfont. If the preset belongs to a different soundfont, that font will not be loaded.

This is different from Sfizz favorites: if the favorite refers to a different font, that font will be loaded.

Is there a technical decision behind this? Or should I raise a ticket?

Favorites are especially necessary for SF2 fonts; currently, it is not visible which font a favorite belongs to, meaning I cannot load that font. In practice, the favorite is therefore useless now.

Regards,
Hans.

Fluidsynth and Soundfonts are designed so that only one Soundfont can be used at a time.

I know that. That is not the problem. The problem is that the favorite is trying to use the wrong soundfont, while another one should be loaded.

I found the cause.

The problem only occurs when the soundfonts are not in the same directory. By placing them in the same directory, the problem is solved.

Not elegant, but I can live with it
