Soundfont folder options

Hello, I use Zynthian and primarily use FluidSynth. Since my soundfonts are large, I load them via USB 3.0 for faster performance. I would like to know if there’s a way to organize these soundfonts into separate folders for easier management.

I also have a suggestion that the presets or banks could have an option for a grid view instead of the current list format, similar to the Yamaha MODX or Montage series. I hope the development team can consider my ideas. Thank you

Hi @sangto2906 !

I just pushed a new feature to vangelis (testing) branch. It’s a file browser that allows full access to zynthian’s directory tree, including soudnfont locations, user presets, captures, neural models, config files, etc.

After updating (vangelis) you will find a link to this filebrowser in the webconf’s system menu:

by clicking the link you will access the file browser, like this:

Enjoy!

You should open a feature request on our tracking system and describe your proposal with all details you can, including pictures or schemes if possible. It’s the best way to avoid your proposal got lost in the forum daily flow.

Thanks!

Great @jofemodo, this is a huge improvement for the webconf interface, allowing external management of Zynthian all in one place!

Very good idea.
Unfortunately, this file browser asks for login username and password, but if I enter root and the ssh or webconf password, it denies access. If I enter nothing, it denies access. So what to enter there? Username zynthian and opensynth did not work as did zynthian and webconf password. It just does not work. Updated Firefox here

username is zynthian.

yes, I did in webconf .> system → security → advanced enter the current password three times and Regenerate Keys and nowit works. Need to update SSH and Wi-Fi now, but that is fine.
Super nice! Thank you.

That’s really nice !!!
The inevitable observations…

1/ Doesn’t seem to recognise external USB drives that are connected, which combined by the location of Audio recordings out on drives can get confusing.
2/Should we really be creating extra folders at the top level. This can get chaotic and very difficult to fault find?

Should I feature request these ?

Oh, that’s wonderful. I wonder if the development team has any plans to organize the sf2 files into folders on the USB drive so that users can find and open them more easily. If so, that would be great
