Hi there,
i want to put some SF2 in subfolders under the sf2 folder.
If i do so, then they don’t show in the fluidsynth menu. Only the soundfonts, directly stored under the sf2 folder.
Is there an trick or so?
Thanks

No trick. That’s just how it is for now.
Is there still no way to put sf2 soundfonts in subfolders?
I have a few hundred of them and putting them all in the main folder gets a bit messy
Is there any news on this?
I would use Polyphone and create a bank.
Thanks for the answer but I’m asking too much if you explain how to do it?!
I’m not very familiar with Poliphone.
Thanks in advance
He surely means that you convert the sf2 to sfz using polyphone and then you can use directories in the sfz engine (sfizz or linuxsampler, they use the same directory).
Or just add a lot of sounds to single soundfonts.
Here is a sample sf2
Each instrument is a “preset”
Zynthian Organs.sf2 (2.1 MB)
Hi are there any plans in the future to add soundfont subfolders to zynthian.
I’ve tried using banks but linuxsampler for me is hit and miss at loading them.
I’m not sure if it’s the size of them? They range from 1gb to 3gb
Would it be better to put them on a usb3 stick.
I’ve just used sf2 splitter to seperate all my banks and that seems to have got them loading now but wow scrolling for days lol.
Hi @SCR!
Are you using stable? If so, i would suggest you to try the new Oram Bookworm image, that has some improvements regarding external storage. You can load your soundfonts from a pendrive, organized in banks, Only SFZs and GIGs can be classified in banks. SF2 still need some improvement.
Regards,
Yes I’m using stable.
I will have a go at installing the Oram Bookworm image you mention
Thanks
my solution was rename the SF2
